These pieces of work are all originally by Alex Pardee. I first saw them when I was aged 13 listening to the album In Love and Death by The Used. The album artwork for this album was incredible and I fell completely in love with it. At first I didnt know who the artist was when I drew these images.
I only found out once I had drawn them at age 14 and then messaged the band on Myspace, where they then told me who the artist was. This was the first time I had ever heard about Alex Pardee, who is still one of my top favorite artists today, almost 7 years later.
These are some of my all time favorite pieces of work. They are a good example of the darker side of my illustration interests. I hope you enjoy looking at these pieces of art. To view the original pieces and to view or buy any of Alex Pardee's work or merchandise, please visit his website here.

Don't Jump
This illustration is aimed more towards adults than my usual young audience.
I decided to draw this as part of an 'aerial project' for college. The idea came to me when asked to draw something as if I was looking down upon a scene. This kind of image came to mind and I felt it was a good idea to put on to paper.
I used watercolor paints and fineliner pen.

New Project
Meet the newest edition.... I've not really got a name for him or decided where to put him yet but this quirky little robot is a character who is currently in development. He might show up in the Evelyn series, or we might find him off on his own adventures. I'm not sure yet, but I hope you all enjoy him for now, until we find him a home.
Evelyn; A start to the series
This is a draft of my first book, in the 'Evelyn' series. It focuses on a little girl about 3 years old, who believes that she is growing up soon and wonders what she could possibly become.
She explores the different jobs that her family members have, before her imagination runs wild and she imagines becoming a deep sea explorer or even an astronaut
The series are based upon my own daughter, Evelyn and are often inspired by the many conversations I have with her. She is known for her happy, cheeky smile and for carrying around her best friend, formerly known, as 'Rabbit'; you won't often see one without the other.
I hope you find pleasure in these illustrations.

Polar Bear
This is a watercolor illustration of a polar bear on ice, staring out into the pacific, probably looking back upon fond memories of playing on the ice with his brothers when he was just a cub; feeling sad that the land he once called home has wasted away into the deep, blue, icy abyss and how his current homeland is also steadily disappearing into the open water around him.
New Book Idea
NEW BOOK IDEA
So I've been working on coming up with some new ideas for a children's book unrelated to the 'Evelyn' series that I'm working on . This is so far what I have come up with, its just a 'mock' cover image so its not completely final as to whether this will be used or if the name will be 'The Lonely Mermaid', however, its a project, so I will definitely keep you updated on how this is going. I hope you like it!

Teacup in a Storm
Il Sung Na is by far one of my favorite illustrators. This illustration is from the book 'Teacup in a Storm' written by Lucy M. George and illustrated by Il Sung Na. He is a mixed media illustrator and his style is second to none. For this illustration, I used watercolor paints, acrylic paints, chalk pastel before outlining the characters and objects with fineliner pen.
