When I first came across this book 'The Tail of the Whale' written by Ellie Patterson and illustrated by Christine Pym, it was hard to decide which illustration I wanted to paint. Christine Pym is one of my favorite illustrators, due to her colour palette, her choice of medium and her drawing style.
I painted this illustration using watercolor paints and even though I was very tempted, I refrained from outlining the image as usual with fineliner pen
